Webers in Rwanda: May 2024 Missions Update

The Redeemer to Rwanda team learning some traditional dances with the primary school students.

We sent out our dear Weber family—Ben, Cherie, and 6 of their children—as missionaries in our sister diocese in Gahini, Rwanda, on March 29, 2023. They’re living among our Rwandan brothers and sisters there, working to strengthen our mission partnership and relationship with our sister parish through Friends of Gahini!

Here’s the Webers’ May newsletter update where they share about their time spent with our Redeemer to Rwanda team that was sent out in May. You can find praises and prayer requests below, and read the whole update with more photos and details here!

On May 5th, the Weber’s attended the opening of a new church building! An organization called IBM has partnered with the Diocese of Gahini to build several new church buildings for existing parishes and this was one of them. It was a beautiful celebration of what God has done in this remote community!

Praises:

  • The Redeemer to Rwanda trip was very smooth and went really well.

  • We were all healthy while the team was here.

  • We have been able to get back into a good routine with school as we start to wrap things up for the year.

Prayer Requests:

  • Cherie was able to get all the paperwork for Rift Valley Academy filled out this month. However, we have to appoint two guardians for her who live in Kenya. Please pray that we will be able to finalize who those people will be in the next few weeks.

  • As we step more deeply into ministry, please continue to pray that God will lead us every step of the way and that He will show us how to best partner with the Diocese of Gahini and the churches here.
