Holy Week 2025
We're looking forward with great anticipation to entering into Holy Week together this year! You can find details for each of our services below. We pray that the Lord continues to carry you through this season of Lent as we journey together towards the glorious Easter morning.
We will also have a short (30 minute) Eucharist service at noon on Monday through Wednesday of Holy Week. (No childcare)
Make sure to spend some time in the Greenhouse reflecting on the events leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus through our Interactive Stations of the Cross. It is suitable for all ages and will be open from 9 a.m. to dusk beginning on Monday, April 14th until mid-day on Holy Saturday.
Date: Sunday, April 13th
Time: 9:00 a.m & 11:00 a.m.
This service opens Holy Week as we walk in the footsteps of Jesus as he enters into the holy city of Jerusalem where the events of the week will take place. To mark this occasion we begin our service by gathering in the courtyard of the church to participate in Jesus’s procession by reading the Scripture and reenacting the moment the people waved palm branches and sang his praise before betraying him just days later.
Date: Thursday, April 17th
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Childcare: for nursery aged children (0-4 yrs.); children 5 yrs.-5th grade will begin in the Children’s Liturgy room in the Grove with a Last Supper re-enactment and join at the foot-washing ceremony
This intimate service recalls the servanthood of Jesus and his preparation for his crucifixion. On this night we will remember and practice the new commandment which Jesus gave us, “to love one another as he has loved us,” and wash one another’s feet. We will recall Jesus’s final night before his crucifixion and strip the altar as Jesus was stripped of his garments.
Date: Friday, April 18th
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Childcare: for nursery aged children (0-4 yrs.)
A poignant and visceral service, we sit together on this dark night, recalling the events of the passion of Christ. We remember the grave price that was paid for our sins and we repent individually and corporately through prayer and action as we’re given an opportunity to nail our sins to the cross.
Date: Saturday, April 19th
Time: 8:00 p.m. to just after midnight.
Plan to arrive between 7:45-8:00 p.m. At 8:15 p.m. we will gather in the courtyard to light the Paschal Candle, signifying that a “new light” has come. We will then process into the sanctuary together at 8:30 p.m. where we will be for the rest of the evening.
Childcare: N/A, but there will be plenty of snacks and opportunity to move around or curl up in a sleeping bag!
This service tells the story of the Scripture from Creation to Crucifixion to Consummation, revealing the great plan of God and its culmination in Jesus. This is also a service where we celebrate baptisms as we rejoice in the resurrection of our Lord! It is a service of artistic expression, deep repentance, and overwhelming joyful celebration.
Date: Sunday, April 20th
Time: 9:00 a.m. & 11:00 a.m.
The principal service of Holy Week as we gather to celebrate the empty tomb and the victory of Jesus. We are Easter Christians, and our entire faith rests upon this day!
