Webers in Rwanda: April 2024 Missions Update

Building a new rabbit cage to keep their new pet rabbit safe!

We sent out our dear Weber family—Ben, Cherie, and 6 of their children—as missionaries in our sister diocese in Gahini, Rwanda, on March 29th. They’re living among our Rwandan brothers and sisters there, working to strengthen our mission partnership and relationship with our sister parish through Friends of Gahini!

Here’s the Webers’ April newsletter update where they transparently share about a month that had many difficulties and challenges for them, and yet still experiencing glimpses of God’s goodness and provision of rest. You can find praises and prayer requests below, and read the whole update with more photos and details here!

Praises:

Celebrating the one year anniversary in Rwanda with a trip to Kigali for Holy Week, ice cream, pizza, and celebrating Abigail’s birthday at the waterpark!

  • Mae did well on her assessments and was accepted into Rift Valley Academy in Kenya! She will start in September. She is very excited!

  • God is good! God has given us the rest and restoration that we needed.

  • We received the keys to our office! We have been focusing on some needed repairs this month, but we are looking forward to getting it set up in May!

Prayer Requests:

  • Health - we have dealt with a lot of sickness this month. Please pray for health especially as we host the team from Church of the Redeemer.

  • Team - Pray for the team of 11 people from Church of the Redeemer who will be traveling here from May 5-16. Pray that their time here will be blessed.

  • Ministry - Please pray that God will give us wisdom on how best to minister to those He is putting in our path, especially all the children.
