Webers in Rwanda: Oct./Nov. 2023 Missions Update

Michaela and Jonathan turned 7 in October! Here they are with Shiloh and their night guard!

We sent out our dear Weber family—Ben, Cherie, and 6 of their children—as missionaries in our sister diocese in Gahini, Rwanda, on March 29th. They’re living among our Rwandan brothers and sisters there, working to strengthen our mission partnership and relationship with our sister parish through Friends of Gahini!

Here’s the Webers’ October/November newsletter update coming after the huge Gahini Revival in September, and getting back to school! You can find praises and prayer requests below, and read the whole update complete with more photos and details here!

Praises:

A safari with family and friends!

  • Homeschool is off to a great start this year!

  • Ben's meetings with the Archdeacons have been going well.

  • Cherie's parents being able to visit and will be with us for our first Thanksgiving here in Rwanda.

  • The ceiling of the cathedral has been completed and we will resume the English service next Sunday.

Prayer Requests:

  • Traveling mercies. Cherie's parents are currently in Uganda and will be traveling to Kenya, back to here, and then to Ghana before heading home at the end of November. Cherie and Mae will be joining them in Kenya from Nov. 16 to 19.

  • Archdeacon Felecian and his family. See his specific requests in the "Meet a Pastor" section of this email.

  • The English service as we resume meeting this coming Sunday. Pray for the 30 students that we are training to be leaders.

  • Culture shock continues to be hard. Our children have been really struggling this past month. It is hard to feel like you belong in a community where you stick out like a sore thumb and receive unwanted attention wherever you go. Pray that God would give us wisdom to know how to help them be involved in the community here.

  • Pray for our son Gabriel and his wife Shadaiya. Being away from them is hard especially on birthdays and holidays.
