Rwanda Partnership Update Sep./Oct. 2021

Church of the Redeemer has a sister-to-sister partnership with the Karangazi parish in Rwanda which largely stems from the ACNA’s original formation as a mission of the Anglican Church of Rwanda to America.

Redeemer is one of several parishes partnered with Friends of Gahini, a non-profit organization which seeks to foster relationships with churches in the Gahini Diocese of Rwanda. MOUCECORE (French: “Mouvement Chrétien Pour L’ Evangélisation, le Counseling et la Réconciliation,” English: “Christian Movement For Evangelism, Counseling and Reconciliation”) is a Rwandan Christian organization which aids churches in community development and facilitates relationships with other parishes, such as Redeemer’s relationship with the Karangazi parish.

We are so thankful for our relationships with our brothers and sisters in Christ in the Karangazi parish, and hope that we’ll be able to make our annual visit in the spring of 2022.

Here’s a September/October 2021 update on our sister parish from our MOUCECORE representative, Rosemary Uwineza.

End of Month Report

Church of the Redeemer has a Sister-to-Sister partnership with the Karangazi Parish which fosters a cross-cultural relationship and ministry alliance between Anglican Mission churches and Rwandan parishes. Moucecore facilitates the partnership by providing different services and administration support. This end of month report will help maintain clear communication and follow up on projects being implemented in Gahini Diocese supported by Friends of Gahini.

GAHINI DIOCESE UPDATES

The Gahini Diocese is doing well, as well as its church members, too—they are now back to having 2 services on Sunday. The first service runs from 9:00am-12:00pm and the 2nd service starts at 4:00pm and ends at 6:00pm, and in this service 85% are of Youth age.

Appointing of Deacons in Gahini Diocese

A ceremony of appointing Deacons in Gahini Diocese took place on 22nd, August 2021, and 7 Deacons were appointed.

Thanksgiving

A gathering of thanksgiving took place on 29th, August 2021 and people thanked God for different things, including the following:

  • Thanked God that in Gahini Diocese no one died from Covid-19 but all recovered and they are all doing well.

  • Thanked God for people who were healed from various diseases.

  • Thanking God for re-opening of Churches.

  • In the past month around 15 people were saved and accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and the message of God continues to be preached in all Parishes.

 Prayer Requests

  • For discipleship: that they would forsake the ways of the world and embrace the way of Christ.

  • There are people who lost their jobs due to Covid-19, may God continue to provide for them and their families.

  • Re-opening of Churches that are still closed in Gahini Diocese and elsewhere in the World.

  • For the word of God to continue to spread all around the world, all for God’s glory.

They continue to express their thanks and gratitude to Friends of Gahini who never cease to pray for them and support them in different ways, they wish to hear from you, how you’re all doing with your families, and prayer requests they can pray for you. They miss you very much and long to be with you all again one day.
