2018-2019 Fellows Graduation
When you walk into the sanctuary on a Sunday morning, you’ll often be greeted by the smile and spunk of Andrea Cuevas. And you may not notice him, but in the back, running the sound almost every week (and on Wednesday nights during band practice) and getting here early during all the Holy Week services is Andrew Edscorn. Sitting next to him, running the presentation slides are Tressa Czysz and Tom Barker. On stage most weeks, leading us in worship, either on the guitar or percussion is Tony Nguyen. Organizing our Lay Eucharistic Ministry team and coordinating a ton of volunteers is Jonathan Heidengren-- and on that team, reading scripture is Darren Faber and serving chalice is Chris Meriwether. Serving in our children’s ministry is Kait Tromans. Volunteering as youth small group leaders on Sunday nights you’ll find Emma Cooper, Kinsley Coley, and Adam Hubert. Helping lead our college ministry is Rachel Yowell. Serving with our New Wineskins missionary network is Victoria Hassell. Serving, or about to serve, in missions overseas are Alex Towery and Alyssa Clark. And working as Alan’s assistant and helping run the province of over 1,000 churches who are a part of The Anglican Church in North America (ACNA) is Buddy Hocutt.
What do those 20+ folks all have in common? They’ve all come to our church through The Greensboro Fellows program. How amazing is that?!
In 2012, Tripp Graziano started The Greensboro Fellows program here at Redeemer and since then, 63 twenty-somethings have moved to Greensboro to be a part of this life-changing program-- over half of which are still involved in our church and community. The Fellows program is currently under the direction of Dodd and Becky Drake who lead this program with wisdom and grace. In many ways, The Fellows Program has been an undercover battery that has infused our church with a spirit-filled energy. The Fellows themselves are such a gift to our church and our city. This year we have had seven Fellows live life with us and we’re so excited that five of them will be staying around after the program.
Currently, the Fellows will be in Rwanda from May 17-27th. When they return, they will be preparing for their graduation. The Graduation and Ice Cream Social will be held Friday, May 31st, from 7:00pm to 8:30pm, at Church of the Redeemer. The Fellows have been an integral part of the life of our church and we want to send them out with our love!
Come help us celebrate the Greensboro Fellows!
