Hello from Berlin!! The Renslow’s are coming back for a visit next week!! We originally weren’t planning on coming back until Mac graduated from UNC in May but we found some crazy cheap airline tickets and we decided we couldn’t pass them up! Also, its been a tough season and we just needed some time at home to see friends, feel some familiar, and get some bear hugs. The Hawkins have offered to open up their new home for us to hang out together. Instead of sending the invite out to the whole church, we wanted to invite you personally!! The “gathering” is Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 7:00 pm. We are asking you to bring an appetizer or dessert to share and throw some lawn chairs in the car:-) We will provide the drinks!
If you are available to come, could you RSVP? We can’t wait to see everybody!
Much love!
Gayla
***Since our kids have struggled so much this year with school and just the German environment in general, asking them “How do you like Germany” will get you a short negative response;-). Some better questions for them might be…..Tell me about one of your friends you’ve been able to make since you moved. What's it like not having a car…can you actually ride the train and busses by yourself at your age!?! Tell me about your room/apartment. What is your favorite food or candy that you found in Germany;-). Tell me about fun places you've seen on your bike (Zeke). Tell me about any parks or amusement parks you’ve been to (Zeke or Zuri). Tell me about Chewie (our new dog). These are questions that make them proud;-). They are both getting better at German and can understand more and more but too embarrassed to speak it right now:-)
